Many people are not aware of the late filing penalty rules that apply to Limited Liability Partnership (LLP). They are of the opinion that dormant LLP or non-trading LLP does not require filing their accounts with Companies House.
The UK company law requires all LLPs to file their accounts by the due dates published on Companies House website (www.companieshouse.gov.uk). If you failed to do so, your LLP is liable to pay the late filing penalty.
Pay LLP late filing penalty by instalments
If your LLP received substantial late filing penalty and you have difficulty in paying the penalty outright, you may apply to Companies House in writing to request the penalty to be settled by monthly instalments. In your letter/email, you must also explain why you cannot pay the penalty by due date.
