Update Secretary Details

Companies must provide updated company secretary’s details to Companies House by submitting correct statutory forms. For person secretary, a change in home address, service address or surname is required to be filed with the Registrar of Companies.

Similarly if there is a change in corporate secretary’s registered office this information must be communicated with the Registrar of Companies. Not only it is required by laws that change of secretary’s details must be filed with Companies House but it is also for Companies House to be able to contact the secretary for important matters about your company.

Companies can also appoint a nominee person secretary or corporate secretary. The nominees’ services are available for a fee.

Appoint Company Secretary Procedures

Appointment of company secretary for public companies is compulsory and the person must have the required experience and academic qualification in order to fill in the position.

With effect from 6 April 2008, the appointment of company secretary for small private companies is optional and similar appointment procedure applies if your company decided to appoint ones. The person taking on the responsibility as the company secretary is not required to have minimum qualification.
