Dormant Accounts Example

 

Dormant or non-trading limited company is required to prepare and submit dormant account with Companies House. Your company may use Companies House web filing service to deliver your dormant accounts.

Concise guide how to prepare a dormant account for Companies House

Balance sheet date Your balance sheet date must be the accounting year end date specified by Companies House. If you are not sure when is your company accounting year end date. Please contact your accountants or Companies House.
Details of share capital Your number of shares called up and nominal value per share must agree with the share capital details you provided in your company confirmation statement.
Issued share capital Your company must specify the types of shares issued such as ordinary, preference, the number and value of the shares issued to shareholders.
Statements Your dormant account must state the responsibilities of the company directors and entitlement to file dormant account relevant Companies Act 2006. See the example of statements above.
Date of approval Your dormant account approval date must be after your company accounting year end.
Director's name The director signing your dormant account must already be appointed and his/her information already be registered with Companies House.
