Accounts To Companies House

All companies registered with the Companies House are obliged to file their accounts with the Registrar of Companies. It is the director’s responsibility to ensure accounts are prepared and filed to Companies House within the specified due date. Failure to file accounts on time, your company will receive automatic late filing penalty of £150 for private limited company and £750 for public limited company.

The law also requires the directors to present their company accounts to their shareholders. The directors of a public limited company must lay the accounts at a shareholders meeting, usually the annual general meeting and a private company is no longer required to do so unless it is required by the articles of association of your company.
