Under the UK company law, a company must at all times have a registered office address to which all formal communications and legal notices can be sent there. Companies House and HM Revenue and Customs send all of their correspondences to registered office address only. Therefore, you must ensure that all the company registered office address is up to date and all mails can reach you.
You may change the company registered office address by submitting form AD01 to Companies House within 14 days. This form can be downloaded free from Companies House forms.
You must incorporate the new registered office address on your company stationery including letterhead, websites and any formal correspondences.
It is also advisable to contact HMRC to inform them of the change of the registered office address. This is because even though the change of the registered office address has been notified to Companies House but Companies House will not inform HMRC of the change automatically, they are separate governmental bodies.
